We have built a stable online community, using humorous light-hearted content mixed with professional videography and photography. Our success with The Bay has allowed them to reach top of TripAdvisor in their area gain national coverage on TV and fill out their restaurant in a challenging time for the hospitality industry.

In August 2024, we partnered with the new owners of The Bay Torquay to help relaunch the venue with a fresh and exciting vision. Although The Bay had previously operated as a restaurant, it was left with a tarnished reputation due to past mismanagement. Sitting in such a prime location, we knew it had huge potential — it just needed youthful energy and a vibrant marketing strategy to bring it back to life.

We kicked things off by establishing a strong foundation: creating high-quality visual content, including photography and videography, to showcase the space in a polished, elevated light. Early traction was promising, but as the initial hype began to settle, we noticed a dip in engagement.

Rather than staying the course, we quickly pivoted. We shifted our focus to employee branding and more informal, personality-driven content. This approach paid off immediately — our first few videos racked up over 50,000 views, and The Bay began to develop a distinct, relatable identity within Torquay. Locals and visitors alike started recognizing staff members by name, engaging with them both online and in person.

Momentum continued to build. Following a hugely successful launch, The Bay landed not one but two features on BBC News — a milestone that firmly established it as Torquay’s must-visit destination.

Part of our brief was also to keep The Bay culturally relevant. Beyond just social media trends, we tapped into broader lifestyle movements — like the growing focus on wellness — and helped the team partner with brands like Perfect Ted Matcha to bring that energy into the venue itself.
